Basic Stitches: chain stitch for beginners

The Foundation: Chain Stitch (ch) 🧢
The chain stitch is the starting point for almost every crochet project. It creates the foundation row upon which all other stitches are built.

Steps:
1. Slip Knot: Start with a slip knot on your hook.
2. Yarn Over (yo): Wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front.
3. Pull Through: Use the hook to pull the yarn through the loop already on your hook.
4. Repeat: One chain is now complete. Repeat until you reach your desired length.
Pro Tip: Keep your tension relaxed. If your foundation chain is too tight, your first row of stitches will be difficult to work into.
