The Versatile: Slip Stitch (sl st) 🧶
The slip stitch is the shortest of all crochet stitches. While it’s rarely used to create a whole fabric, it is essential for joining rounds, finishing edges, and moving your yarn across a row invisibly.
Steps:
1. Insert Hook: Insert your hook into the designated stitch or space.
2. Yarn Over (yo): Wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front.
3. Pull Through All: Pull the yarn through the stitch and through the loop already on your hook in one smooth motion.
4. Done: You have completed one slip stitch.
Pro Tip: Don't pull too tight! Slip stitches can easily become "choke points" in your work if the tension isn't relaxed.
